Sermon scripture: Ephesians 6:14-15
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
The belt of truth
Christ is the truth:
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
The Word of God is truth:
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
John 17:17
just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word,

Speaking and living a life of truthfulness is the truth

Truth does several things for the Christian soldier.
The breastplate of righteousness
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
