Typically, our youth meet both Wednesday and Sunday evenings at 6:00pm. On Sundays, we have a snack supper, play games, and have time in small groups. On Wednesdays, we meet as a group for worship, a lesson, and prayer. There is also a Sunday School class between services on Sunday at 9:30 for all youth. All meetings take place in our youth room, which is located next to the gym.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Like everything else in life right now, our regular schedule is turned upside down. Tyner Students are currently meeting on Sunday evenings at 5:00p in the youth room. We are encouraging students to be safe in all things. For info about when we are meeting, follow us on Instagram or FB (@tynerstudentministries + Tyner Youth) or email JD at youth@tynerumc.com.

BECOME A DOOR KEEPER
What is a door keeper? In Psalm 84:10, the Psalmist proclaims "I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." In our student ministry, we believe Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus is the Way. But there are many "doors" through which we can be introduced to Jesus. Some "doors" that can be opened for our students: a friend offering them an invitation to church, a parent or grandparent passing on their faith, a first time visitor joining us for Messy Games, a student sharing stories about their life with an adult who listens well, a heart being opened through worship, or any number of "doors" that might be the entrance to faith.
As a volunteer with our student ministry (lovingly known as doorkeepers), we are asking you to be someone who opens doors. Real life physical doors, yes, but also someone who is there to make room for new and old students to walk in the door of faith. Being a Door Keeper with Tyner Students doesn't require you to have all the answers to every Bible question or crisis of faith. We just ask you to stand at the entrance of the Kingdom of God, knowing and experiencing the goodness within, and being prepared to hold the door open so someone else might see the light inside and step through.
