Pastor Ty joined Tyner UMC as Senior Pastor in July 2019. He and his wife Kim have three daughters. Joye, a graduate of Liberty University living in the Washington, DC area, Elizabeth who is planning to attend college, and Lydia who is home schooled by Kim, as were Joye and Elizabeth.
Pastor Ty completed his undergraduate work at Berea College in Kentucky. After working in the furniture industry for four years, he was called to preach in the United Methodist Church. He attended Duke Divinity School of Duke University where he earned his Master’s Degree. Pastor Ty has ministered in Pulaski, VA, Galax, VA, Kodak, TN, Hillsville, VA, and Athens, TN.
